🆕Unlocking the Mysteries of ‘AUM’: The Ancient Sound That Holds the Secrets of the Universe🚨 🕉️🕉️Why do we consider ‘AUM’ sacred?🕉️🕉️ (long tweet) AUM is a solemn and sacred exclamation. Chanting AUM is a purifying experience for all. It is a source of great happiness. AUM is the most sacred word. The three-syllable A+U+M represents and salutes Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara and invokes their blessings. AUM is the source of all religions and religious scriptures. The syllable ‘A’ carries mankind like a horse. The syllable ‘U’ is a pointer to the condition and location. The syllable ‘M’ is indicative of the rhythm and melody of life. The uttering of the sacred and mystical AUM is called Om-kar or On-kar. It is the melody of life. It is the sound of Brahma. It is the predominating force and power. For this reason, chanting AUM before every auspicious activity is essential. It is considered both mystical and powerful. Since time immemorial, devotees have had great reverence for ‘Om-kar’. 🌸Chanting produces a quivering sensation and power within. It affects every part of the body. The mind experiences unity and strength. The voice becomes gentle. Negativity in the mind is destroyed. The body feels buoyant. One forgets worldly thoughts. The dormant inner strength is aroused. Self-confidence grows.🌸 Since the life force move vertically, by chanting AUM 7, 11, 21 or 51 times, sadness and disappointments vanish, and contentment grows. When chanted in a group, the beneficial influence is much greater. To ensure physical and emotional health one must chant AUM with a tranquil mind for some time every day. 🕉️What does our scriptures say about AUM?🕉️ There is much in praise of AUM in all the religious books. In the Kathopanishad, 1.2.15, Yamdev tells Nachiketa: सर्वे वेदा यत् पदमामनन्ति तपांसि सर्वाणि च यद् वदन्ति यदिच्छन्तो ब्रह्मचर्यं चरन्ति तत्ते पदं संग्रहेण ब्रवीम्योमित्येतत् ॥१५॥ Nachiketa, I will tell you of the power of the word that has been praised in the Vedas and repeated in love by devotees. The word is the essence of the Vedas. It is the speech of devotees and the experience of the learned. It is AUM and AUM only. Again, in the Kathopanishad, 1.2.16-17, it is said that AUM represents Brahma – the creator. It came even before Brahma. With the knowledge of the word AUM a person attains whatever is desired. It is the finest foundation and the last resort for all. Knowing this all devotees find dignity in Brahmalok (the abode of Brahma). The Mandukya Upanishad, Agam Prakaran, 25 advises: युञ्जीत प्रणवे चेतः प्रणवो ब्रह्म निर्भयम् । प्रणवे नित्ययुक्तस्य न भयं विद्यते क्वचित् ॥ २५ ॥ The mind must concentrate on AUM. AUM is fearless liberation. Those who concentrate on it shall never be afraid anywhere. In the Bhagavad Gita, 8.13, Sri Krishna has said: ओमित्येकाक्षरं ब्रह्म व्याहरन्मामनुस्मरन् | य: प्रयाति त्यजन्देहं स याति परमां गतिम् || 13|| Whoever controls his mind and knowing that the soul resides in the forehead repeats the word AUM, knowing it as representing Brahma, and thinking of Me his soul leaves the body, that person shall attain the supreme goal. Again, in Bhagavad Gita, 17.24, Sri Krishna says that all distinguished persons know that when chanting Veda mantras and performing religious ceremonies or acts of charity one must begin by remembering the Supreme Spirit and chanting AUM. In the Gopatha Brahmana, it is said that without using the prefix AUM, chanting a mantra does not bring any results. Chanting AUM before the mantra enhances the power of the mantra. AUM represents Lord Shiva, and the mantra represents Shakti. When chanted together the purpose is achieved. All the Upanishads, the Dharmashastras, Gayatri mantra and all the mantras used when performing a yagya or in reverence to gods begin with AUM. AUM must be chanted in a high and prolonged note with great devotion. Even scientists agree that chanting AUM is beneficial. Yogasana and exercises do not fully influence the functioning of the brain. Chanting AUM influences the whole brain. The electrifying effect of AUM cleanses unwanted deposits in the brain and promotes well-being. 🌸Chant AUM and be blissful.
