This plate finally got published in the Indo-Iranian Journal, Volume 69, Issue 4 after a long wait. Some key takeaways from the paper:

>The plate is probably dated in the Gupta era 58, or 377-78 CE which may indicate Isvarasena was a Gupta feudatory, but we need more evidence. Nevertheless, it points towards increasing Gupta influence in western India.

>This is the earliest dated land grant charter from Gujarat and one of the oldest from North India.

>The issuer of the grant was Senapati Maghavarman who served the king Isvarasena. The two can't be identified with certainty, but a character named Maghavarman features in a 5th century play titled Padatadika authored by Kashmiri playwright Shyamalika. Maghavarman was a senapati in the play.

>So far Kumaragupta I is regarded as the first Gupta ruler with direct authority over Gujarat. However, this plate dated in the Gupta era, was issued either during the last regnal years of Samudragupta or the beginning of the reign of Chandragupta II. More evidence is needed to establish Gupta suzerainty over Gujarat in late 5th century. The Prayag Prashasti speaks of Samudragupta's exploits against the Shamas who ruled Gujarat and Malwa.

Then consider the fact that this clearly treacherous individual will be out of jail if the Opposition/Shuddho ever gets into power at the Centre. Think through (with no emotion) what this says about Shuddho - who they are, what their priorities are, and how completely unfit they are to lead this nation.

This should quietly radicalize you about the state of this country's Opposition...
