Lots and lots happening on the courses since the start of the new year!! The drainage installation of B4 green has been completed with just the turf to put back (currently frozen solid so will have to wait!) and the inspection chamber to install.

It’s good to get our A/Ryedown 9 holes open today after finally getting 72hrs dry weather! We’ve been out hand mowing select greens and we have the first 4 of 10 new mat bases in play 👍🏻🤩

The club has purchased 10 new @HuxleyGolf mats and materials to make 10 brand new mat bases to be put on our Ryedown/A course. They will have new wooden surrounds and a concrete base. The first hole has been completed and looks great and is a big improvement. 9 more to go!

A busy week, dodging the relentless rain, we’ve been out using our Oxyshot on the greens. It’s a great machine and certainly helps surface water to drain quicker. We’ve been able to hand mower some greens too.

The storyline seems to be about how many waggles Brian Harman has or what animals he hunts, but it should really be about how good this performance is. It’s a clinical display of ball striking and putting perfection, just how golf’s meant to be played and it deserves more credit.

It would reflect far better on the BBC if they got anywhere near as giddy about UK golfers who routinely compete at the top of their sport as they do about tennis players who cannot make week two at Wimbledon. They’re doing the public and sport a disservice.

The new mounds on A7 have been turfed and is now complete. We’ve cut thick turfs from the rough at the bottom of the driving range in an effort to keep it the turf from drying out too quickly and to hopefully make the area look more natural. Very pleased 👍🏻⛳️🤩

Congrats to Liz Davies who took home the Ladies Event by winning only the 3rd Playoff in the clubs history to win the Championship
and to Jamie Hughes on Winning his 3rd Championship in the past 4 years holding on to a slender 1 shot lead after Day 1.

A hot and tough weekend saw our #wellowjuniors battle over 36 holes for the Club Championship.

Aged from as young as 7, all completed the gruelling test and the eventual Gross Winner was Farren Porter with Declan Stride taking home the Nett

Another fantastic event ran by the Junior Section last evening.

The GrassRoots event is a chance for Juniors to play 9 hole greensomes alongside an adult member. (showing them how its done!)

With Food and drink afterwards, just a great event each and every year!

Office boy Billy has helped us out and placed the new yellow 150yard discs out on the course, replacing the old and battered posts. There is also some red 100yard discs as well. A much better look 🤩👍🏻
