@badboy123312@ScottEnlow No he won’t… because he won’t shut-up long enough for a public defender to be able to do his job. Heck, Victor prob wouldn’t let the judge get a word in edgewise to be able to appoint Victor a public prosecutor to him to begin with. At some point, Victor needs to STFU.
@bendreyfuss@Tyler_A_Harper TBF to the folks at Bluesky… it’s not like Tyler lobbed an abstract and/or metaphorical grenade at academia…he f’n napalmed the shit outta Bates. And I’d be a bit scared a guy who has napalm and isn’t afraid to use it. TBF to Tyler, they deserved everything he gave ‘em.
@Tyler_A_Harper@BradWilcoxIFS WOW! I’m ashamed to say that it has been a long time since I had the will, patience, or discipline to read an article that lengthy, but I’m glad I did. And even though I’m just a rando on X, may I say, well done. Thank you for your honesty, courage and character. It matters.
@Gatzby3712@aviel Part of me kinda wondered if that might be it, because I did notice what appeared to he set of studio lights there. But, didn’t want to jump t conclusions too quickly.
@Noahsharts@MartinHeid73590@aviel Yeah someone else pointed that out. I mean… I initially assumed it was a multi-floor apartment, not a “studio” (apparently Im wrong). The only thing that made me think the office was wierd was it appeared to have film set lighting which gave personal porn-making studio vibes.
@AaronBastani I had zero idea who he was. For me, the real story is about Cambridge and the intelligentsia and how institutions made up of even high IQ people manage to be really dumb/clueless in their own way, and undermine social trust and their own credibility…just like low iq schmucks.
@robots445@Browne_Anthony_ No. Cops always want to police themselves because it’s just a few bad apples… but then never manage to root them out. The Church wants to police itself, but only ever managed to shuffle the deck rather than hold pedos properly accountable. Universities are no different.
@ingelramdecoucy@collinwood_j I’m pretty sure finding a competent valet is less of a challenge than finding one that isn’t greedy. I mean, what do you mean room and board and every other Saturday off, isn’t enough? I’m not offering heath and dental, I cant even afford that for myself anymore.
@3ali9szn I think her smoking is contributing to the decline cognitive dissonance. It tend to prematurely age the skin, especially around the face and neck. Either way… I don’t generally find smokers attractive, but can’t help but find her pretty attractive anyway.
@KanekoaTheGreat That was a beautiful display of focus and athleticism… parrying with his left arm while simultaneously delivering a knock-out punch with his right. Bravo. And the ripple of vicarious satisfaction you just sent around the world with this video…it gives the world hope.
@moveincircles He’s not being scapegoated, he’s being rightly pilloried. The answer isn’t to extend him mercy he hasn’t even yet confessed to needing; the answer is to pillory his enablers just as aggressively until they both confess. They exploited a toxic symbiosis they must both atone for.
@ClimateWarrior7 I heard he solved climate change while you guys were up there. I think you deserve a special mention when he gets his Nobel for allowing him to carry your tank. We all know he wouldn’t have had that epiphany if you wouldn’t have allowed him to carry that xtra burden.
@ingelramdecoucy@ThorThunderdog@NYMag Has any song ever ended more satisfyingly than listening to that improvised flock of Wah Wahs fly off into the distance?
@ingelramdecoucy@NYMag I’ve always taken it for granted that this theme was the basis for every second (or sometimes third) rock album ever produced. Are you telling me that that was Mandela effect and that Ariana Grande invented the genre. MIND BLOWN! 🤯 🤯 🤯
When the spiritual and intellectual institutions that serve as the meta-structure(s) for society fails, there are no institutional communities left to trust and no longer a structurally viable moral foundation to build upon. When that foundation fails, We all fall down. 5/5
This… this is the problem. Every institutional community wants to police itself, religions, cops, Hollywood, pro sports, academia, etc. But the truth is, almost all groups do poorly at rooting out the bad apples. 1/
@Afinetheorem The real scandal isn't one bad academic; it's the failure of Cambridge, the academic community, and the media to deal with obvious academic misconduct and fraud. And every day they deny or minimize it, the scandal gets worse.
The extra concern and consequence when the institutions of religion and academia fail is that they often (if not always) serve as/provide the intellectual and spiritual meta-structure upon which most other social institutions and communities are formed.
