On Thursday Aug 29th, angel Rachel Goldberg-Polin, mother of Hersh Goldberg-Polin came to the border of Gaza and cried out at the top of her lungs and bottom of her heart in the hopes that her only son might hear her after 329 days of captivity.

On Friday, Aug 30th, a stones-throw away in a terror tunnel under Rafah, Hersh was murdered by Hamas along with 5 other hostages.

An American-Israeli, Hersh was born in California and brought to Israel when he was 7 years old by his parents. His father Jon is a friend I met through work.

I am in physical pain. Israelis, Americans and anyone with a conscience are heart shattered today as we mourn with the families. 💔

We failed you. We failed them.

May their memories forever be a blessing. 🕯️
