If you’re given an instruction, always learn to repeat it back to the person that gave it so everyone can be on the same page.

This is called closed loop communication and it can literally be the difference between life and death.

You tell someone to give a patient “2 of insulin” for instance and the person thinks you mean 2 vials of insulin meanwhile you meant 2IU. If there’s no clarification, that misinterpretation could literally cause a huge problem for everyone involved.

A badly worded instruction or poorly understood one can cause chaos with fatal consequences. And this spreads beyond just day to day activities in a little sphere. It can literally make an entire system collapse.

In all you do, learn to practice closed loop communication. That’s why our parents would ask us to repeat their instructions when they can see confusion on our faces.

It’s always better to double or even triple check than to assume you know what you’ve been told. It’s not someone forming “oga” on top of your head.

It is closed-loop communication: sender gives instruction → receiver repeats it back → sender confirms.

Simple and effective in preventing disaster.

I spent my school years hiding.
Some classmates can barely remember me.

I always avoided the spotlight. And when you are shy and timid, breaking out of poverty becomes harder.

For years, I believed people were watching and judging me.

I started writing online.

I joined Toastmasters to speak.

It was brutal. No one pushed me. But I pushed myself.

I get invited to speak at events, and guess what?

We still have to beg people to sit at the front. We still get silence when we ask people to ask questions.

Opportunities slip by every day because people stay invisible.

This is the hard truth:

Mediocre but visible people outperform silent hard workers.

2. Your ability to write

3. And the quality of your ideas

In that order."

Take that step forward. Sit at the front. The world is waiting for you.
