National Champs! Congratulations to the Northeast Alabama Mustangs on winning their first national title. What an incredible season! https://t.co/AcSwHkVODw
A take like this makes me embarrassed to be a woman. “Should a total lack of judgement disqualify a person from the power and responsibility of a Senate seat? Who’s to say????”
Delete your account, Jill.
The Graham Platner story is landing because it confirms a bunch of his critics’ prior concerns: unvetted, history of poor decision-making, the kind of light misogyny that tends to go along with male bad decision-making. Those are all problems! But it’s worth asking if they’re problems that should be disqualifying for a senate seat and I think the answer to that is no.
NC State HC Elliot Avent on the Auburn Regional:
"I've been to a lot of regionals. Auburn, Alabama, is a special place to me. It's one of the class places in all of college sports. The people. They're great fans and great sports fans. It's different than most places you go."
Just a reminder that as GenX with boomer parents, the summer childcare plan for me was to drop me off at the city pool everyday from 10-6 with $1.50 in quarters and a towel. Lunch from a vending machine, no sunscreen, no life vest. We survived on sunshine, water fountains, and sun-bleached teenaged lifeguards. My friend knocked her teeth out on the diving board. The pool manager rinsed her mouth out with coke, gave her some paper towels and told her when it stopped bleeding she could get back in. We never questioned it. 😅
I am proud to have secured the necessary $41.2 million to finish the advanced individual training barracks at Fort Rucker in the FY2024 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations bill.
I’m deeply committed to improving soldiers’ quality of life, and I’m excited the project is nearing completion.
Nowadays kids’ books have messages like “believe in yourself” and “you can do anything” but when I was a kid the messages were things like “a lady who has a candy house wants to cook and eat you” and “sometimes wolves can disguise themselves as old women”
Congress has been completely feckless when it comes to protecting our children online. It’s past time we take action.
I’m introducing legislation with @SenBlumenthal to ban digital gambling ads targeting minors. Proud to be a leader in this fight to take on companies who continue to put their bottom line ahead of our greatest asset, the next generation.
The next wave of school choice will be parents who demand a learning environment that doesn’t wreck their child’s brain development to achieve a subpar digital education. Kick like mules, mom and dad. If Big Ed won’t correct in the face of mountains of evidence—leave em.
Kids in Lower Merion school district in Pennsylvania get iPads starting in kindergarten, switch to Chromebooks in second grade and get their own MacBooks in eighth grade. Hundreds of parents signed a petition asking to preserve their ability to opt their children out of using digital devices during the school day. The school district has pushed back, saying it’s not feasible to let hundreds of students opt out of technology that is essential to the curriculum.
The last time I spoke to the Artemis II crew, they were about to return to Earth! Deeply grateful to recognize their historic mission in person today in Washington. Their legacy and contributions to deep space exploration will live on for generations.
Moms are the heartbeat of our families, communities, and country.
Proud to join @POTUS, @DrOzCMS, @SecKennedy, and several others today to launch https://t.co/4MZkd01Jl6 and continue expanding support for women and families through every stage of motherhood.
