@X I need your help accessing my account on another device. I've tried several too many times and it's no longer working. I emailed X Help and they said they can't verify me, so do I have to create a new account?
Strong current profits and balance sheets are good to see, but markets don’t wait for the past to be reported. They primarily price expected earnings over the next 3–30 months.
If the market is still only at fair value despite these strong results, it may be telling us the forward outlook is less optimistic than the recent numbers suggest.
Or Is it different this time?
1/ This is my understanding after digging into the Starlink-India standoff. Five years of blocking, and the stated reason — data security — doesn’t survive scrutiny. Here’s why I think it should be allowed.
2/ Starlink is a pipe, not a server. It doesn’t store your messages. Google, WhatsApp, and Meta already hold Indian data on foreign servers with zero interception access. The government knows this. It tolerates it because those companies are too big to block.
3/ The real concern is control — who holds the pipe. Fair. But the fix is a license with Indian gateways, Indian data centers, and real-time lawful interception. Not a ban.
4/ The government’s fear: a foreign owner flipping the switch in a crisis. That fear is real — Musk personally ordered Starlink cut in Kherson during Ukraine’s counteroffensive, against a government at war. But a license with a kill switch and penalties beats a ban.
5/ Here’s the part nobody talks about. If India blocks Starlink, the fallback isn’t nothing. It’s Qianfan or Guowang — China’s constellations. Both are state assets: Guowang is run by a central SOE with military payloads built in, and Qianfan is 80% state-held with foreign capital explicitly barred.
6/ So the choice isn’t Starlink versus security. It’s Starlink versus Beijing’s network — with India holding the weaker hand in either negotiation. And India’s own constellation doesn’t exist yet. ISRO’s plans are years behind.
7/ The affordability argument is bogus. If people can’t afford it, they won’t buy it. That’s their business, not the government’s.
8/ The same government blocking Starlink over control fears is now using control to silence peaceful protesters in Delhi. The fear of losing control is producing exactly the behavior that makes people lose trust.
9/ India doesn’t need to choose between security and access. It needs a tough license, not a ban.

STONKS PARK
Tesla’s Q3 update (SEC 8-K, Oct 2) says they produced 464,391 vehicles and delivered 486,532 — so deliveries were ahead of production this quarter? Also deployed 13.7 GWh of energy storage.
Deadline day: Tesla has to tell NHTSA, under oath, how a car with no pedals passes a rule that says brakes need "a foot control."
Cybercabs are still doing paid rides in Austin.
Should the rulebook catch up to driverless cars, or should the cars wait? 👇
