(1/n) Introduction
This will be a comprehensive thread breaking down an incredible podcast featuring @finallynitin Nitin, one of the most process-oriented traders I've encountered. He has an exceptional ability to articulate complex trading concepts. Credit to @AnkurPatel59 Ankur for facilitating this.
Nicotine is the most addictive chemical on the planet.
And people will do absolutely anything to justify keep being hooked to it.
As a lifelong smoker who quit 6 months back, I know that I will go back to it someday.
Mints, vapes, pouches, cigarettes avoid everything like plague. Never try a single puff.
Your brain will always remember how awesome nicotine makes you feel and will crave for it in perpetuity.
@LifeMathMoney What’s worked for me in keeping the urges at bay is sipping on warm water. And while that’s fine , what typically happens is that when life gets tough, the brain reaches to a familiar access to easy dopamine.
This is my 3rd attempt to quit in a 10 year period. So 🤞🏻
@doconclock Bhai do 2x / week full body workouts. Train hard on those 2 days. And recover on the rest days.
Just my 2cents from my 3 month experience doing this.
@swing_ka_sultan@kswindia Hi Chiraj bhai, why do you feel Backtesting is a conceptually failed concept? It’s an interesting thought but I can’t decipher why.
2024
the year has ended.
ours is a small rock in the vast cosmic ocean.
it’s the only light of consciousness out there.
learn to live a bit.
let go stuff.
don’t take yourself too seriously.
find a way to enjoy the act of living itself.
we are all eventually going to be checkmated.
our time here is limited.
don’t waste it on useless resolutions.
find beauty in every day things.
happiness is a choice.
a choice you have to make every day.

@harnidhish This is one area where the citizens at large are responsible. Government has taken several steps to educate citizens but the onus is on us to keep our environment clean.
It’s ironical because Indian history is full of anecdotes that has always believed in cleanliness & hygiene.
Entropy
we think order is natural.
it's not. chaos is.
look around you. your room gets messy on its own.
but cleaning?
that takes effort.
entropy always increases.
imagine a sandcastle on the beach.
waves will destroy it.
wind will scatter it.
time will erase it.
that's entropy.
your body fights entropy every second.
cells working overtime.
systems maintaining balance.
but eventually, you die — entropy wins
yet here we are.
creating.
building.
organizing.
fighting chaos with consciousness.
we're temporary pockets of order in an increasingly disordered universe.
that's what makes life beautiful.
we exist despite entropy.
not because of it.
every organized thought.
every structured plan.
every moment of clarity.
is a tiny victory against the cosmic tide.
savour it.

Overwhelm
have u ever tried learning chess?
it requires tremendous amount of work and play time to get decent.
the overwhelm is paralysing.
we go through education linearly.
the cause and effect is simple.
study the syllabus — ace the exam.
life is more like learning chess.
far too many options than you know what to do with.
the trick to reduce overwhelm is :
small steps — consistency.
nothing in life that’s worth it, happens overnight.
idea is to choose small steps in the direction you want life to head towards.

There are days when you get nothing done.
you don’t lift a finger.
One of those days for me.
But I have to show up.
I have to write something.
because it completes by day.
Helps me clear my mind to plunge into the next.
Cheers to being lazy.

Day dream
we move from one task to another.
like robots.
time flies by.
we hit middle ages and realise time flew by.
bill gates sets aside hours / week to just day dream.
by himself, absorbed by his own thoughts.
to an outsider, he does nothing.
to day dream is
to collect your self, consolidate &
imagine what else could be.
some of life’s best decisions come as a result of that.
try it.
get some coffee. sit by yourself
flow with your own thoughts;
see where they take you!

Dubai is a role model in handling immigration.
Visas are straightforward even for citizens from the third world and yet they have almost 0 illegal immigrations.
Everyone is basically an expat. Contributing and benefitting from Dubai’s growth.
There’s a lesson in there for the world.
I think in the way H1-B is structured it’s best for America.
H1-B does not result in green card for all practical purposes. Atleast for Indians.
So USA gets the most well behaved corporate employees who are too afraid to lose their jobs.
USA gets to collect taxes for all of that time.
What else does a country want?
