My wife and I live in India & were planning an 8-day trip to the UK for my alumni meet. We applied for a tourist visa via travel agency on priority basis which cost us INR 80K. In about 3 weeks, we got a response from the UK Home Office that the application has been rejected.
We request the @UKembassy@ukhomeoffice to re-think and amend the visa application policies so that most Indians do not feel ripped off. We would always like to remember UK as Great Britain rather than as a “not-so-Great-Britain”!
And so did our excitement to go to one of our most fav cities- London!. We appreciate the UK Home Office for giving us the reason for the rejection but losing hard earned money of INR 80K is heartbreaking. Also no opportunity was given to us for providing any clarifications.
@ajinxm Haha. Nah. FP is complex coz it can’t be very public. So kya pata what conversations are happening in the background thru back channels. At least i sure hope they are. 😂
@ajinxm Yea. I agree that his other points were more powerful and harder to push back on. I this his point was that China has a clear plan while our foreign policy is piecemeal. Then again it takes years for foreign policy to play out so can’t say since I don’t know much about it.
@ajinxm I agree with this part. All I said is that China has become more active and aggressive around it. Plus foreign policy has failed in getting other neighbors on our side. The dude Is a politician so he will look to score political points. But there is some validity in what he says
@ajinxm What used to be two separate fronts are now becoming one large threat from NorthEast to West. I think Pak is the boogeyman that Indians immediately have an emotional reaction towards and therefore sit up and take notice and probably Helps drive his main point to the masses.
