Hopefully, Apple will add a few Golden Gate Landscape wallpapers and screen savers in future macOS 27 betas, like they have done in years past. While there are a couple of the Golden Gate Bridge, I'd love to see Apple expand on them and offer some Dark Mode options.
Every time I see "X" referenced, I immediately think of "Mac OS X". Apple used the roman numeral 'X' to not only mark the shift from OS 9 to OS 10, but to market the fact macOS has a Unix kernel. E just named this place "X" because he apparently, jacks off to the letter at night
@SnazzyLabs Picked one up last week when it was $179! Noticed with the new design, I had go down to the XS ear tip size to get them to properly fit. Normally I'm good with the default M or S.
πΊ June 21, 2006: Summer staple βAmericaβs Got Talentβ debuted on NBC. Initially hosted by Regis Philbin, the season one judges were David Hasselhoff, Piers Morgan, and Brandy Norwood. https://t.co/NXP0Jao4O4
@TechnovityTech This is where I think everyone is wrong about the touchscreen MacBook "Ultra" or whatever: I believe Apple will use the touchscreen simply to bring Apple Pencil support to the Mac
Unpopular opinion. It's time, @Apple. It's time to remove DVD Player from macOS. Nobody uses it anymore, and the fact it was never updated to support Blu-Ray playback makes it useless. 480p video from a DVD on a Mac display that is 4k resolution looks like crap. #macOSGoldenGate
I wonder what routers Apple uses these days? Back when they sold AirPort, I'm sure they used AirPort Extremes. Would be interesting to see whose router bed Apple lays in for their Stores WiFi networks.
Still not quite sure about this new battery icon in macOS 27 Golden Gate Beta 1. I get why it's designed this way, likely to "space space", but we have a computer display here....no need to have the percentage inside the icon IMO...
I'm really surprised Apple DVD Player is still in macOS. I would have figured by now, they would have killed it. No Mac has shipped with an internal optical drive since 2016. Plus, the last time I used DVD player, I had a white MacBook and was a Senior in high school...
@markgurman There was a lot of hope when Giannandrea came on board, but I wonder if he was setup to fail because he was forced to "fix" Apple's AI models? The big difference I see with Siri AI is the fact its powered by Gemini, proving Apple's own models are still many years behind
@tgod34748 The name "Golden Gate" to me implies that it is the "end of the road" for macOS names. Like how the "Golden Gates" are what a person sees when they enter heaven. I would not be shocked at all if the names are dropped with OS 28.
@MacOSFinder I've only ever seen it on Apple's website showcasing Yosemite early on. I think it was originally supposed to ship with 10.10, but it was likely redesigned very late in development, and the screenshots were already made up.
I think Siri AI should have been given a totally different name. If Apple is serious about fixing their AI missteps, then it's time to leave the name "Siri" behind. The name is rooted in such failure, that people laugh at the word "Siri". No amount of improvements will fix that
I have a feeling that no matter how good Siri AI happens to be, it's still going to be poo-pooed. Apple severely tarnished their AI abilities with one broken promise after another. People get tired of being lied to and when you finally do ship a functioning product, nobody cares.
This also could be the reason why the new Siri was named "Siri AI"...trying to distance itself from the dumb, single-digit IQ Siri that we have been left with for so many years. However, no matter what you call it, if it still has the word "Siri", people will think it sucks.
