@alisonleary1 It has never been more important to protect the title. We are continually seeing the skill mix in health and care services diluted. It is therefore essentia the public know who are entitled in law to call themselves a nurse and have the knowledge and skills to practice as such!

@alisonleary1 I have no words, this is completely irresponsible. I would see the ANP or practice nurse AHP as a first point of contact and Gp for things only they can do. This is about team work and the most appropriate person.

@Justacarehomeg1 Dad died last year, he was in Carrick House care home Ayr due to physical needs from a spinal cord injury and vascular dementia. Whilst there, bonds of friendship were an essential part of care whether with family, friends or staff. Eternally grateful to my care home family❤️❤️.

@alisonleary1 @robertaloug The helicopter view of the nurse in charge is often absent now as they must take a case load. We lose the ability to have a second pair of eyes that will help to spot deterioration, escalate care, redeploy staff, support NQN’s or anyone struggling. Risk management in action!

@catherineroyuk It is heartbreaking for the mums and families affected, trauma that some may not recover from. Also for the staff working short, carrying the burden of not being able to deliver the desired high quality, person centred care. Causing stress, burnout and loss to the service.

@alisonleary1 Couldn’t agree more Alison. Why when looking at the bottom line do we still think that workforce reduction will solve the problems. What we see is cost soaring through harm, prolonged length of stay, litigation. Wider social impact of harm and Staff absence due to burnout.

@alisonleary1 With nursing being the biggest safety critical profession in the NHS reduction in senior nursing and midwifery leadership from ward to board will impact safety. This could have happened late 1990s in Scotland. RCN and RCM rallied, decision overturned thanks @MalcolmChishol1

Great achievement Cathie. I am pleased to say this was always the case in my Dads care home, Carrick House in Ayr. Welcome anytime day or night and always a partner in care. So glad to see that care homes across Scotland must now ensure this happens for those closest to residents

@catherineroyuk I do wonder if she were a male if this would even be mentioned. £850 for expert consultancy is the going rate.
Do we want expert exploration of services or do we want a mediocre job done at half this rate and have to repeat it again!
