I find it funny when fans demand announcements about Doctor Who, because like, they’ll announce it when they’re ready?? Like, what do you think is going to happen? A special will air without any advertisement and they’ll be like, ‘Shit, sorry guys we forgot to announce it.’ 😅
@TheMetalWhovian I just don’t know what other option there is. When they’re going back and rescanning the raw footage in 4K, any stock footage or VFX shots would not be included. So they either have to recreate each FX shot from scratch (complex and expensive), or just AI upscale the SD footage.
@zagreus_sits In the behind-the-scenes, they said that they reached out to his agent thinking there’s no way they’d ever get him. But they sent him the script for the first few episodes and he really liked it. He knew nothing about Torchwood or DW, but was sold on the idea. It’s pretty cool.
@TheCyberdevil I’m not very familiar with what format the TV Movie was filmed in, but if they’re considering a widescreen version, I’d imagine that means the raw footage is already in widescreen & was cropped originally when released. If that’s the case, the frame would not need to be cropped.
@Tales_TimeLord Nah, I think it’s more likely Chris just forgot that Web of Fear wasn’t a UNIT story, & wanted to write in the Brig’s origins. Moffat made a similar mistake in Bells of St John, where the Great Intelligence refers to UNIT as ‘very old friends’ despite never encountering them.
‘Established sometime in the 60s or 70s after that Yeti business in the underground’.
Well if we’re being technical, UNIT was formed in 1958 as established in ‘Flux 😏
Then again, it also stated that the Brig joined UNIT as a corporal, yet he was somehow a colonel in ‘Web’.
No matter where. No matter when. UNIT is here. https://t.co/0VJqk1wSu7 🌐 OUT NOW! Four brand-new full-cast audio dramas starring:

@abitdickensian Oh definitely, I’m more reacting to the original person who claimed that he never told her, suggesting she just found out on her own or something. But there’s dialogue where she makes it blatantly clear that he told her himself. So they’re just wrong on that point.
Got a lot of responses to this where fans are saying that the intention was for him to be a mixture of cultures in the future, which is logical & I’ve heard this for years. But has anyone on the original production ever actually stated this to be true? Is there anything official?
I think what I find most bizarre about Mavic Chen, is that there was no reason for the character to be Asian in the first place, let alone a man in yellowface. Why didn’t they just make him a white man, or an alien? His race is never brought up or remotely relevant to the story.

Decided to continue with DMP recons, but this time including some Big Finish stories set between ep7 & 8. I’m surprised that BF haven’t inserted more stories between ep6 & 7, given the cliffhanger doesn’t align well. These lines could easily be addressing different scenarios.
@FroodMultiple@CableFF7@Macra25383896 You can watch the episodes however you damn well like mate. If you don’t stop talking absolute nonsense, I’m just gonna block you. There’s so much joy for you in life out there, how about you go and find it? It’s really none of your business how I watch it.
Watched Daleks’ Master Plan episode 1, rewatched the existing episode 2 and now I’m four minutes into episode 3. If someone could find and return episode 4 within the next 20 minutes, that’d be great 👍
What stood out to me the most about the returned Master Plan episodes, were these little moments between the Doctor and Katarina. If only they could’ve risen to the challenge of continuing to write an ancient-historic companion, this could’ve been a really sweet relationship.
@Whosittopodcast I don’t know, I think this would be a special case that would have an effect. When they did Web of Fear they only animated ep3. Animating 1-3 existing eps would’ve been fine, but now that there’s 5 existing, I think their approach to a potential animation would be different now.
With 2 eps of Daleks Master Plan found, I wonder if the approach to a potential animation might change. Typically now they’d animate an entire story in 16:9 colour, even with 1 or 2 existing eps. But with 5 now existing, maybe they could just animate the remaining 7 in 4:3 B&W?
