As a house painter, I've learned something important.
One day, I was painting a house when an elderly woman brought me a bottle of water and thanked me for my hard work.
To her, it was just a small act of kindness.
To me, it reminded me that kindness doesn't have to be expensive to be powerful.
Just as a fresh coat of paint can brighten a home, a kind word can brighten someone's heart.
As Christians, we're called to treat others with love and compassion because we never know what battle they're fighting.
Good morning
Today, may your heart overflow with thanksgiving. May God remind you of how far He has brought you and how much more He has in store for you in JESUS name, Amen.
Happy Sunday X Fam. ♥️
Men, you’ve been talking to this girl for 3 months. She finally agrees to visit you. You clean your room, cook, and buy drinks to impress her.
She arrives, you both chill and spend time together.
You both ended up in the bedroom.
The next morning, you wake up and she’s gone.
On the bed, you see a note:
“I’m not emotionally available, I just get bored easily.”
Be honest… what are you doing next?
I dare to say the dvmbest generation of Nigerians are on TikTok.
Band!ts post videos and these use|ess guys are under the comments throwing jokes and compliments.
Boys asking if they could join up. Girls asking if they could date and others suggesting they visit certain states.
Our nation is bleeding and these kids found a way to trivialize the rising tide of insecurity.
I am hurt. I am pissed.
During last year’s Valentine’s Day, I traveled to surprise my boyfriend with a new laptop, something he had been praying for for a very long time. I saved for a year to be able to afford it because I loved him so much, and he had come through for me on so many occasions. We had dated for good two years, and everything showed we were headed in the right direction.
I knocked on his door and waited to see how shocked he would be. I knocked again and again with no response. Just when I was about to call him on the phone, the door swung open and he appeared. The shock on his face made me smile. He spoke in whispers, “What are you doing here? Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?”
I said, “At least, let me in and let’s talk.”
“I can’t let you in. Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?”
He locked the door and went back in. I knew there was someone in there, but I loved him too much to cause him embarrassment, so I waited outside, hoping he was going to dress up and come back. When I waited for several minutes and he wasn’t coming, I called his phone. It was off. I didn’t knock again. I didn’t want to get him angry.
I texted him, “I came to surprise you with a laptop. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, but I mean no harm.”
I waited again until it was getting dark. I went back to the station and got a car back home, with my heart aching as if I was being operated on without anesthesia. I came home and waited for his call all night. I called him once more, and the phone was still off. I woke up the next morning and saw his message: “I’m on my way. I want to see you so we can talk about it.”
I was excited but still in pain. It was just an hour’s drive, but this guy got to my place around 10 p.m. All the while I was waiting for him, the little voice in my head kept telling me, “Are you going to allow this guy back into your life? You’ll accept his lies and still give him another chance? You deserve whatever bad thing that comes your way.”
I wanted to call and ask where he was, but I didn’t. I even thought he wasn’t coming. I was tired of waiting and was about to sleep until I heard a knock on the door, and then his voice followed, “Emelia, it’s me.” I smiled to myself, turned to the other side, and slept. When the knock got too loud, I put my earpiece in my ears. When he started calling my phone, I put it on DND.
In the morning, I saw his message: “Is that how you want to do it? Tit for tat? Let’s see.” I texted back, “There’s nothing to see. Enjoy your life.” And then I blocked him.
It’s almost a year now, and I look back and thank myself for the decision not to welcome him back into my life. I gave the laptop to my brother, and to date, he tells me it’s the best gift I’ve ever given him. Thank God for the little voice He placed in our heads, and I’m grateful for the heart that listens. It’s the reason I’m in better arms this year.
😭😭😭😭😭I dropped my daughter at school that morning and went to work, never knowing that very day was my last day of seeing my beautiful daughter.
A few hours later, I received the most painful news a mother could ever hear — b@nd!ts had att@cked the school and kidnapped everyone, including my little girl and her teachers. Since then, my daughter has been in the forest, and I don't know if she is safe or even alive. 😭
The pain is too much for me to bear😭. Every day I cry, pray, and hope for a miracle. God, please protect my child and bring her back home alive.
A mother cries out in pain.
5 Money Mistakes I Made While Building My Small Businesses in Nigeria 😅
Some of these mistakes cost me profit…
Some nearly damaged the business completely. TBH,
1. Posting every small win online too early suddenly everybody remembers you owe them “help” and become your enemy if u don’t help them. But I can’t please everybody na so I nor send them 😂
2. Buying machines or supplies without checking multiple markets , I make sure I squeeze every of my vendors to save little money through negotiations because streets nor supposed run me street.
3. Rushing into “urgent” investment deals or gambling with my factory money, I was a member of betting Twitter NG but I have quited it ,Greediness will cost you a lot.😔
4. Using business profit to flex instead of reinvesting enjoyment finishes fast, but reinvestment keeps cash flowing and gives you edges over competitors.
5. Building a business that cannot survive without you once you rest or fall sick, everything slows down. Every day I’m trying to scale this business so it can work without me
