I do the NYT's Connections every morning and then spend the rest of the day hating myself because I didn't realize those four names were all doomed whaling ships built in 1832.

"Experts" have long held that the smiley face was created in 1963 by graphic artist Harvey Ross Ball. Those "experts" must not have consulted the brand registration books in Pecos County, or they would know that it was created by a Texas rancher and recorded on May 8, 1882! 😃😉
