I’m very excited about the launch of Winter Birds, my second natural-history children's book, which is illustrated by Cindy Vincent.

My Column in The Richmond Sentinel: #RichmondBC took the equivalent of 710 cars off the road by replacing natural gas with geothermal district energy in West Cambie. #BCNDP & #PMJT convert our nat gas to #LNG with #SiteC to put 710 cars on the road overseas.Does Anyone Else Care?
@Dave_Eby It would be a sign of good faith to stop the SLAPP suit @bcliberals had @bchydro file against people voicing their opinion against the #sitec dam.
It is more than obvious that project should never have started now. Or explain your reasoning for allowing it to remain on the books.
UA co-author Patrick Broxton said, "The big decreases are more often in the mountainous areas that are important for water supplies in the West."

🚨On the anniversary of NDP #bcgov announcing it'd continue building #SiteC, an adjudicator slams BC Hydro for #SiteC secrecy. Minutes, correspondence, change order logs and names of people who work on the megaproject must be released. #bcpoli#cdnfoi
Yesterday, 1st anniversary of @jjhorgan's disastrous #SiteC decision, Ken & @ArleneBoon & friends hammered in the latest batch of Yellow Stakes (mimicking BC Hydro survey markers) w names of donors to the Treaty 8 infringement case against the dam. Thousands of them now. #bcpoli
Today is the 1-year anniversary of John @jjhorgan's disastrous decision to proceed with the #SiteC dam. Mudlides, fracking-related earthquake, overruns, delays continue. It's still not too late to stop this Mordor of corporate welfare & graft. #bcpoli#cdnpoli#MuskratFalls
@ThomasBeyer @fullonelectric @NatObserver @bchydro Lots of "stable base" exists with legacy reservoirs that will support any intermittent sources. Less transmission losses with generation at load centre and we also have geothermal resources closer to load. The #siteC dam is not the way to solve any energy problem.
First came Autumn Bear (2007), then Winter Birds (2018). Cindy & I need to pick up the pace a bit to get Spring and Summer in before we die of old age, LOL. Autumn Bear has almost sold 3000 copies since it came out in 2007. Fingers + eyes crossed that WB does as well.

It is so disheartening to realize how few conversations occur among Canadian citizens about this deadly #climatechange deadline. We are acting like the Easter Islanders.
"Manitoba’s hydro mess points to Canada’s larger problem with megadams" As world moves away from large-scale hydro projects, decommissioning dams across the planet, Canada digs in w/ 3 projects & costs are spiralling out of control https://t.co/zIM9Mvshkx #siteC#bcpoli#cdnpoli
Interesting thread for those interested in following the public inquiry into Newfoundland's #MuskratFalls, like #SiteC another over-budget megaproject dam being built on unstable geology. BC should turn bad now before it's as many billions in as Nfld. #bchydro#bcpoli
The remains of the 70-ft long Shonisaurus sikanniensis, found preserved in limestone on the banks of the NE BC's Sikanni Chief River in the 1990s, is up for consideration as B.C.'s provincial fossil. Let's help it win. https://t.co/fexcsJdNyL #fossils#paleontology
The group Extinction Rebellion wants to force governments to treat the threats of climate breakdown and extinction as a crisis. Which indeed they are. Planetary emergencies. https://t.co/t3cN7d0SWZ
