@BeschlossDC In 3rd grade. Before lunch our 2nd grade teacher ran into our room crying. Both teachers went to coat closet to talk. We assembled outside & our principal made the announcement. A girl suggested we skip lunch & recess & sit quietly instead. Everyone in our class agreed.
@JillWineBanks@TiffanyDCross Broke up with fiancé. On the way home the car radio played Linda Ronstadt singing Long, Long, Time. Been over 44 years and I still can’t hear that song without crying.
@jasonselvig 60 years ago the Halloween myth for us was that bad adults put mothballs in malt balls. Took me until nearly adulthood to finally eat one.
@roywoodjr I’m in my mid 60’s, my mom is 95 & the answer is never. Someday I’ll recover from the disaster I was forced to wear for my brother’s bar mitzvah.
@IJasonAlexander My childhood bathroom, built 1949, was that color. Black & green swirl pattern linoleum on floor. Heater in the wall since we had no central heat or air until 1963. Alas, no stairs!
@Erin_Murphy My mom, now 95, never stopped wishing she could just twitch her nose and have all the housework & laundry done. I just wanted to turn everyone into pet dogs.
@estockbridge My 5th grader made a shadow box for her book report that her teacher loved so much that it was displayed in the classroom for 10 years as an inspiration to other 5th graders. That is what 5th graders can do!
