@DreatonAlain@Denyse_558 They are holding onto a rope. The teacher only has 2 hands and you can’t depend on kids to hold each other’s hands. It’s also dangerous for them to hold hands and walk at that age.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the extraordinary outbursts of the President of the United States against female journalists... well, actually against journalists in general and journalism. But it feels like he saves his most childlike behavior and irrational language for female reporters, calling them all kinds of names that kids in kindergarten are given times out for. It’s stunning to me to witness such behavior from any leader, any CEO, any person of influence or importance. I’ve never witnessed someone like this raging, this weekend with @meetthepress host @kwelkernbc, just last week in the Oval Office with @cnn’s @kaitlancollins, calling women stupid or piggy, telling them to “smile”, calling them darling, demeaning their credibility. Every good man should denounce this behavior. Every person should be able to stand up for their colleagues and say “No more.”
Imagine this man screaming like this at your daughter, your wife, your sister, your mother... would you stand for it? No, you wouldn’t! And neither should any of us. It’s unacceptable and undignified. Period. End of story.
@theyarenotelite@luxemiaa Yes, people CHOOSE to buy and sell breast milk. You don’t just pick up someone else’s child and nurse them without their permission. Especially when THEY’RE IN THE HOUSE WITH YOU!!!
@corbydavidson Oh shit! You’re right! And I should know that because we (Trinity) played Jesuit in football a couple of years ago. There’s a Houston school that left TAPPS too. St. Pius, maybe? Regardless, even more impressive!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I have stayed mostly quiet about the issues with the USC cheer program but I cannot any longer after what happened at Nationals last week. South Carolina cheer has consistently had some of the most talented athletes every year - a thread
@wfaaweather We have Field Day scheduled for next Thursday, so I need you to work your magic and make sure that slim chance of rain remains slim!! 🤞🏾🙏🏾
@GloriaCampos I grew up with you on WFAA and one of the reasons its still the only news I watch. You were always fair and impartial and have carried over the same qualities while conveying your opinions in retirement.
I don't tweet about recovery stuff because it just isn't really my deal. But I want to say this to whoever it might matter to. Anyone who has been to meetings or the hab knows there are a whooooole lot of sobriety dates around holidays. July 5th is a date I have heard a lot. Gotten a couple of emails from people today, which prompted this.
When I was down way fucking bad I would see tweets like this, stop, read them a few times, and continue what I was doing. But I like to think each of those got me like 0.1% closer to quitting alcohol.
Everyone's scene is different. People who are trying to quit or cutback need to know about Medically Assisted Treatment, medications like Naltrexone. That shit WORKS (for me, and most people I know who have taken it). Not everyone needs rehab to quit. But I did, and as arrogant as it sounds, I feel like I have fucking superpowers now. It's just gratitude. How can you get yourself to feeling thankful basically all the time. For me, that was rehab. For you, it might be something else like outpatient, meetings, or none of that.
I don't want to say its easy because again, its different for everyone. But for me, it has been a lot easier than I thought. Neuroplasticity is real. Your brain can heal itself, and there is research that this starts as quickly as six months. Your dopamine regulation will return to normal levels and seeing the fucking sun will make you smile.
For me, learning the science was big, because it gave me the "proof" I needed that recovery was real. If this is something that interests you, any of it, DM me. Or [email protected]
