Yesterday afternoon, while we were brainstorming broader strategy ideas on coverage of Nepal floods, @RohitTiwari_np raised a question: with various organizations and individuals promoting fundraising campaigns, and reports emerging of scam groups exploiting the crisis, could we instead help readers by promoting the PMβs central disaster relief fund and consolidating resources from across agencies?
We huddled in a room, and within a few hours, had a plan in motion. We drafted a message in English and translated it to Nepali. Our district editor compiled contact details for relief coordination agencies. Our designers turned it around fast.
The response was overwhelming and positive, with gratitude from readers both on the streets and online.
