In 2021, Meta reported to An Coimisiún Pleanála that just one of their data centres in Clonee, Ireland, used an average of just over 2.5 million litres of water per day or 928,000,000 litres in total in 2021.

It’s now 2026, and there are at least 107 data centres in Ireland, and growing.

Yet yesterday, Irish Water (Uisce Éireann) claimed that total water usage by all 107 data centres is now less than double what a single data centre was using in 2021.

Today, Israeli settlers, under the protection of the Israeli army, attacked Palestinian families in Imneizel, Masafer Yatta, in the occupied West Bank, injuring several people and stealing around 200 sheep belonging to six different families.

Instead of arresting the settlers responsible for the attack, the Israeli army arrested four Palestinians.

We had 47 days of non stop torrential rain in Jan/feb. This shouldn’t be a problem if Data centres weren’t using so much water. Build more reservoirs for the population you keep increasing. Turning neighbour against neighbour is unconscionable. Another form of control.

There's a palpable lack of energy & enthusiasm this Dáil term. We need serious, radical change to how the Oireachtas does its work.
In my opinion, it has become more and more disconnected from the reality facing people trying to get by in one of Europe's most expensive countries.

We need a leader who is interested in the Country, much more that being the best boy in Europe.

We are literally watching the last remnants of Gaza City disappear before our eyes.

How can an entire city be erased piece by piece while the world simply watches?

Every day brings more destruction. Buildings that survived months of war are now being destroyed one after another. With every airstrike, another street disappears, another home is reduced to rubble, and another part of our city is gone forever.

Gaza is no longer the city it once was. Most hospitals are out of service. Schools have become shelters. Entire neighborhoods have turned into endless tent camps. There is no electricity, no clean water, no jobs, no education, and almost no services left.

The infrastructure has collapsed. Roads are shattered. Garbage fills the streets. Sewage flows between the tents. Rats and insects are everywhere. There is no fuel, no transportation, not even firewood, while construction materials are still banned from entering.

The humanitarian aid that kept thousands of families alive has all but disappeared. Hunger grows worse every day. Disease spreads. Parents spend hours searching for food or water, often returning with nothing.

And somehow, the world watches all of this as if it were normal.

How can an entire city collapse in front of millions of people, and still be abandoned?

We are not just losing buildings. We are losing Gaza itself its streets, its neighborhoods, its history, and the lives of the people who call it home while a world that sees everything chooses to do nothing.

The hosepipe ban is a useful window into how Ireland actually works.

Rich shareholders, who own assets like data centres and golf courses, and who pay a vanishingly small percentage of tax, are exempt from the ban.

Meanwhile working people, many of whom pay an effective tax rate of above 50%, can’t use a hose; can be fined €5,000; and are encouraged to turn on their own neighbours.

The selective hosepipe ban suggests Ireland in 2026 exists more so for the unequal benefit of domestic and international elites.

Ireland should, however, exist for the equal benefit of all its citizens.

If anyone, after three years of US- supported genocide, aggression, extrajudicial executions, & widespread destruction abroad and persecution at home, still had any doubt that the violent lawlessness and fascistic arrogance of the US government (and its Israeli partner) was a threat to the entire world, this open declaration of unlawful intent should settle the matter.
