@straysdetective be extremely cautious with this because I know someone who had to cancel their normal trip when they were told by their employer not to come before they get their sponsored visa. I think in reality this means that you have to leave the country again
@straysdetective Really it just means that you can't in 99% of cases get your coe done and visa stamped while you're in japan. I think personally there's still a risk but if I was in your position I'm not giving up multiple eventing trips waiting for a coe even if it's only 1-3 months lol
@straysdetective I think it's okay. You just need to go back to your home country to get your passport stamped with the visa and then re-enter japan with that visa later. Worth bringing up with your student sponsor, tell them you're going as a tourist and leaving again to get your visa back home
@straysdetective o I see, you mean by starting the application as in you'll put in your documents in August right? You haven't submitted any in already? Like you haven't had your school submit your papers to the japanese gov for a certificate of eligibility or w/e yet? if so then its ok
@straysdetective as a visitor and then come back later as a student or sponsored employee, but I really recommend you double check with the embassy or your student sponsor program
