@kolak_jason@adambeanlin@Natethatsall@EvanDrellich@Ken_Rosenthal It still doesn’t solve that 100 of the players make up 50% of the total mlb salaries.
Your argument says the owners need to pay more.
Ours says, the cheap owners need to pay more and there’s a salary cap to force the money to be spread amongst the rest of the players.
@kolak_jason@adambeanlin@Natethatsall@EvanDrellich@Ken_Rosenthal Your whole argument is based on “people with a billion dollars need to spend more money on players with $500 million dollars.”
No cap means those players continue to take a larger portion of revenue pie from their peers. It doesn’t raise the floor or spread the money out.
@jayv360206@JeffPassan The top 100 salaries in MLB make 50% of the salary total across almost 1000 players. Some are making 500 million. They’re just as much greed mongers as the owners.
@jimmy722@EvanDrellich Who won the World Series the last two years? How many times have the Yankees been to the playoffs. How many times have the Phillies won the division the last few years. The Jays. Etc. it’s not the end all be all because spending money doesn’t mean you do it wisely. But it matters
@Softykjr Not jumping off any bridges yet, but I honestly was a little concerned about the hype. We’re arguably worse after polanco walked and do we really expect Cal to hit 60 Home runs again? I don’t know why everyone said we should be better.
