As I see it:
If you affirm things that aren’t real then reality feels like a brutal attack.
To be kind to people you must be honest. My daughter wanted to be a ballet dancer after watching Billy Elliot but the kid has the tightest hamstrings on earth. She cannot kick her leg straight so I told her she probably should focus on her other talents. That’s kind.
My family said I shouldn’t give up the day job when I used to put on singing shows as a kid because I CANT SING. Affirmation isn’t kind. It’s weak and cruel. People have to understand that we all have limitations regardless of melanin.
Cambridge allowed this man to create an entirely fictitious world and it collapsed. It wasn’t the media that did wrong. To protect the world of that man would have meant the entire world would have to lie.
That is not a kindness.

Thousands of our ordinary citizens are willingly charge into catastrophic bushfires to save strangers & our mateship is unmatched.

Crisis situations trigger an immediate, fierce community defense mechanism.

West Yorkshire Police published their photographs. They brought in the National Crime Agency. It led to the arrest of EIGHT people, across three towns, for allegedly helping to hide them.
