My wife had taken me to look at cats for Christmas before we got together and nowhere would let us pet them except the Humane Society.
I saw my cat being held by a small child and when I held him after the kid did, he fell asleep in my arms.

A family was already looking at her at that time. Thankfully they didn't adopt her so we were able to and she's been a delight and a terror. She runs the house. She's a little princess. And in the winter she cuddles more. My son is not so lonely.
