ALL EYES ON INDIAN MUSLIMS

Extremists have shown no mercy, even towards women and children. The biased actions of certain police officers lead to the indiscriminate harassment of women.
The remaining Awami League supporters stuck in Bangladesh are vandalizing different places and planning to destroy Hindu temples, churches, and pagodas. It’s not our brothers and sisters who are responsible. Instead, our brothers are protecting us from those terrorists.

#Bangladesh: As rallies & internet restrictions continue, along with appalling new reports of violence by security forces & groups affiliated with the Govt, @volker_turk urges immediate steps by the Govt to prevent further violence & ensure accountability, right to peaceful assembly & right to information.
"In order to prevent the further deterioration of democracy in Bangladesh, the United States must partner with the international community to support the right of the Bangladeshi people to a representative democratic government that upholds human rights and respects individual freedoms."
22 Senators & Congressmen writes to @SecBlinken
The Bangladeshi government has undermined the country’s democratic process by holding flawed elections, failing to protect human rights, and violently cracking down on demonstrations. @StateDept must take action to hold complicit government officials accountable for these abuses.
Unicef says that it has confirmed that 32 children, aged under 18, were killed "during July’s protests in #Bangladesh, with many more injured and detained." The statement does not attribute responsibility, but it should be assumed that all of these deaths - or at least the vast majority - are the result of shooting by law enforcement/army officers. The total number of deaths is reported to be over 200, but this may be an underestimate
