It is true that in the late ’60s and ‘70s, a house could be purchased on one modest salary. Even so, many families worked two jobs and saved.
This enabled homes to be paid off quickly.
Few had inherited wealth. Boomers fulfilled their parents’ ambitions and became successful.
-So why attack Boomers?
Is it the frustration of the haves and have-nots?
Is it envy?
Is it the historical times we live in where housing in cities is becoming unaffordable for many? It is not an Australian problem alone.
England, also had its own Boomers.
Villages and towns that were once affordable to locals are now out of reach.

Much is made of Boomers with significant superannuation and investments.
But many Boomers receive no state pension actually save the Gov’t money.

It is true that a case can be made that the insidious presence of negative gearing has advantaged Boomers with investment properties.
The result is the present obscene rental costs.

CSIRO's GenCost assumes all coal-fired generators purchase export coal at very high fuel costs.

But during the peak pricing events in June 2022, supposedly due to Ukraine, QLD power stations with their own mines were bidding at $30/MWh (Callide B/C) and $11/MWh (Kogan Ck).
