The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Development Cooperation, H.E. Ambassador Édouard BIZIMANA, received in audience the Executive Secretary of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), H.E. Ambassador João Caholo, who paid him a courtesy visit to extend his congratulations on his recent appointment as the head of Burundi’s diplomacy.

Their discussions focused on the functioning of the ICGLR, current challenges and future prospects, the situation of Congolese refugees in Burundi, as well as the strengthening of cooperation between the ICGLR Executive Secretariat and the National Coordination Mechanism.

On this occasion, Ambassador Caholo announced his planned departure at the end of his mandate, scheduled for October 2025.

Le 13 août 2025, Son Excellence l’Ambassadeur Edouard BIZIMANA, Ministre des Affaires Étrangères, de l’Intégration Régionale et de la Coopération au Développement, a accordé une audience à la Directrice de Rise and Shine House Dr. Nisabwe Florence, dans le cadre d’une visite de courtoisie.
