@jnardino @UticaEric Both platforms (caterpillar drive, space-based icbm interceptors) would have been DOA.
The caveat for Red October had a small window where it could have been effective (before the NATO had a chance to update their detection systems)
@jnardino @UticaEric Excellent observation.
I like the notion that taking the Americans 3 hours to defeat (detect) the Soviet superweapon was (kind of realistic and) a parallel to the (real world) defeat for SDI (build more relatively cheap ICBMs w some dummy warheads to overwhelm/confuse the shield)
@contrevorsial@Cetotherium @TameeOliveFern @cenkuygur Respectfully, fascists LOVE that the taboo on this word has been lifted somewhat. Means the culture is shifting in their favour. They have other derogatory words they want to resurrect too. Maybe there's a slur on their list you disagree with.
It's a war on many fronts is all.
@dumplingmenace I followed you because I thought your Red October handle was about the movie (which is great). And then I stayed because it was about the Phillies (also great). But you should really watch the movie: it's awesome and it has a young Alec Baldwin.
