@rail613@HurontarioLRT@25kV@750V_DC Yes, the Hurontario LRT will be operated with Citadis Spirit cars. Was originally supposed to be Flexity. These Citadis cars are the Phase 2 version with all the software and hardware updates. These updates are supposed to fix all the issues with the Ottawa Phase 1 cars.
@TheJasonGuest @MetrolinxSpox @RM_Transit Good questioN.. Right of way is still owned by CP. Anything that is done still requires negotiating with CP. It has been done for example the second track being added for GO Bowmanville extension. GO is building the track, still requires negotiations.
@MetrolinxSpox Great milestone. West Harbour is a great station and sits in a lovely neighborhood. I have been documenting its progress for Canadian Railway Observations ever since construction started.
@Keith_Lobo@AlexanderGlista Test run. Metrolinx working with MTO to see how train service to SW Ontario can be improved. No GO trains west of Kitchener at the moment. Track will have to be improved.
@rail613@chrisjamesdrew@CanadianPacific@OC_Transpo Bob Gilmore in the Marketing Department at Windsor Station in Montreal. Worked on London Division in Ontario in 1967 as an operator while I was attending Wilfrid Laurier in Waterloo. Worked Galt, Ayr, Zorra and Quebec St. yard.
@rail613@chrisjamesdrew@CanadianPacific@OC_Transpo Sorry for the error, I worked for CP from 1968 to 1974 and should have known better. Bottom line, the afternoon and evening trip up the Ottawa Valley was gorgeous. A pity they pulled up the track.
@AlexanderGlista Anne Marie Aitkins of Metrolinx says they are working with MTO to explore options to improve train service in Southwestern Ontario. TEST RUN ONLY.
@Metrolinxspox What work needs to be done on the Barrie line on Aug 6th to 8th that has delayed the start of increased train service to Aug 14th for Barrie line passengers?
@rail613@AlstomCanada@Metrolinx@GOtransit The Bi-level car rides on its own wheels. The idler flats at each end protect it in transit. This is only the end of the current contract. Alstom and Metrolinx are negotiating to have older Bi-levels refurbished at Thunder Bay. No new Metrolinx orders at the moment.
