@Kino_212@Sawyer_DAA Think part of Remedy’s efficiency is that they’ve been under continuous technical and artistic leadership since 1998 or something like that (possibly older). Think R* still has the Brits running it
@virtualpigeons Still Wakes the Deep is also about business negligence causing a catastrophe on an oil rig off the Scottish shore resulting in a psycho-supernatural experience but is far more engaging as a story and has far more vivid, colorful characters.
@virtualpigeons There’s not a lot of roads to explore, literally and figuratively, because everything worth discussing is in the CEG building; the game doesn’t feel empty accidentally, there’s just little ambiguity to resource where SH2R is almost completely about the blind spot of selfhood
@Gomufra Townfall is proving to me that a lot of people, despite throwing around ‘media literacy’, aren’t very sensitive to what makes for great storytelling. You just know re-use certain beats and aesthetics and people will think ‘good enough!’
@alan19847@EvanMcFarlane This was prevalent. SNL had a skit on British Parliament where they had Will Ferrel keep taking the floor and going “Can we not agree that Oasis is the greatest band since the Beatles?!”
@NietszcheanLib@CeodeDionis Ehhhh, it didn’t start this way, but Gomorra absolutely ended with this glamorized, romanticized ending for two rather heinous Camorra gangsters and that was one of the bigger shows in Italy. Sorta like how GoT began vs how it ended.
@faggoatquixote@tbel_janitor@kt4me I think somewhere in Corinthians he goes something like: "hey guys, listen, marriage is alriiiiiight, but really you should try to marry yourself to Christ"
@SuperTiso@AnxiousNeck OMG the story: “Systemic violence should be paid for by sacrificing an individual who ultimately is not in control of that system” So little to the story b/c its actually about systemic violence they had to be vague about it until the last episode like a season of LOST
@ilikeadamsmith Alan Moore seemed to understand her role as that’s what she was in his League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (which also got a bad live adaptation)
