Have we elected these people to do all this drama? Elected CM to do havan like a megalomaniac on Modi’s birthday? Which other country has such scenes? Satya Niketan is fresh in people’s minds. Has Rekha ji done a shanti havan for those students’ families? They are complete failures when it comes to building a developed India of our dreams.

This is a message I received from someone whose mother works as an Anganwadi worker in Madhya Pradesh. She says women have been “ordered” to gather today, light a diya to “celebrate” Prime Minister Modi’s birthday, and even record videos praising him and his government’s schemes, with “action” threatened for non-compliance.

Now just think about the indignity of this.

If BJP governments had spent this energy addressing the actual problems Anganwadi workers face—poor pay (5,000 to 10,000 rupees), crushing workloads, vacancies, no social security or healthcare, and centres functioning out of crumbling buildings, then perhaps these women wouldn’t need to be “ordered” to praise anyone.

If a government has genuinely transformed their lives, their gratitude will come naturally.

But today, these governments are focussed on manufacturing gratitude for the PM with elaborate and coercive PR activities!

Yesterday, the PM visited DU, gave a political speech and even invoked the term “Dimagi Naxal,” while speaking very little about the state of our educational infrastructure.

Today, a hostel building in South Campus has collapsed, with students feared trapped under the debris. The number of casualties is still unknown.

For how long will students in this country have to pay the price for failing infrastructure and neglect?

Adivasi students are dying in tribal belts due to a lack of care and support, and even students studying in the national capital are not safe.

Students deserve safe classrooms, safe hostels and basic dignity. Is that really too much to ask?

Will the PM visit DU again and explain how did this happen?

Allow me to tell you what exactly happened after BJP-protected goon Swatantra Bhardwaj's attack on Dalit man Sanjay at our Jantar Mantar protest:

- Sanjay ji's skull was cracked open. The wound dimensions were of such great size that it obviously warranted an Attempt to Murder charge in the FIR (Section 307 of IPC).
- The Police refused to add that charge.
- This Section would've led to his immediate arrest as it is a cognizable and non-bailable offence.
- To avoid this arrest, the Police flat out refused to add this Section.
- We asked that at the moment, the "grievous injury" section be added (Sec 326) which would also lead to his immediate arrest.
- DCP Sachin Sharma, ACP Ajay Sharma flatly refused.
- Not just this, they told us on our faces "go get a court order"!
- The expert medical opinion has still not been received by us.
- The other gang members who were accomplices of Bhardwaj have also not been identified so far, despite several of them making reels immediately after the attack and threatening Sanjay's minor daughter Nishu openly.
- Now Bhardwaj openly flaunts of Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra pressuring the Police to release him from the Police Station and not to add any strict sections that can lead to his arrest!

So tell us why should Mishra not be made an accomplice in the FIR since he illegally interfered with the course of justice? Why should he not resign for protecting gang members and abusing his office? Does BJP's leadership support this?

In a much more simpler attack on CM Rekha Gupta where she was slapped by a dog lover , u have made “Attempt to Murder” on the accused. He was in jail for months.

And Smriti Irani… well well… just Google why she was thrown out of Education Ministry within two years, in 2016. Her handling of Rohith Vemula’s suicide case, her dismantling of public universities, her own questionable degree from “Yell University” give her great moral authority to lecture us young people.

All those working in the education department, including Ministers, officials, principals and teachers, should enrol their own children in govt schools. Then watch how quickly our govt schools magically improve.

Why do all of them enrol their kids in private schools? Do they not trust their own work?
