More employment rights, sick pay and paternity pay from day 1, 2 child benefit cap lifted, minimum wage rise, universal credit rise….all seems great for those that need it. BUT who pays and how do we pay? For the first time ever the benefits bill now exceeds our total receipts from Income tax…and that benefits bill is projected to rise and rise and rise. So how do we pay for it? Where does the money come from….its a doom loop of less tax income, more welfare spending and ever higher borrowing. What do those in favour of this process believe is going to happen in 5/10/15 yrs…..
