I’m about to do something CRAZY. Our day trading bootcamp that has trained so many people is going to be FREE for the first 1000 people who sign up for it.
Rules:
1. Respond here and earn your spot
2. Retweet this
3. Tag three people in the comments
4. Those people you tagged need to respond here to reserve their spot.
We will be starting bootcamp Dec 1. We have won trading competitions and our team was 2nd in the @Tradeify grand cup.
Might take a few posts to get to 1000, so here is the first one!!
Transparency over everything, including my pride. So here we go.
Today was the worst trading day of my career so far.
Trading is filled with incredible highs and incredible lows. That's part of why I like the journey.
Yesterday I took another $40K payout bringing my total to $240K paid on the year (a fun high note), while today I gave some back massively (a not fun time).
I always say, it just takes 1 day to ruin everything. 1 day of seeing red and going full tilt. 1 day of entering the full tunnel vision of doom. Button smashing like a mad man.
Today was that day for me.
I ended the stream with 2 trades that were red. Risk was fine and I was ok with walking away. Ended the stream down about $400 per account or so. Manageable for sure.
I didn't close my trading platform Instead, I found a great 10 point trade that I took. Mistake #1
Now down $176 per account on the day roughly.
I go for a walk and come back to my screen. Mistake #2 after not just fully walking away after saying out loud I wasn't seeing the market clearly.
I take a few more trades that were scratch and a loser. Back to $400. 100% should be done, but the tunnel vision had started, that feeling of "I have already got back up once, I can do it again."
And I never saw the market cleanly from that point on. Only losers. Ever focused to get back to a small red day, not even focused on a green day at that point.
I also did something I have not done yet on these accounts. I sized up. I added on a couple contracts because the trade seemed certain etc. Enter Full Tilt Matt. Not good at all.
Time gets lost and it's pure tunnel vision of aggression, anger, asking myself wtf am I doing while still continuing to do it. All while slamming trades that are all losers.
Every trade instant loser, fighting trend, reversing trades etc.
Literally everything I know NOT to do I just about did in the span of a few hours.
Pain. Total pain.
Current stats for the 20 $50K accounts:
-$4,550 per account today
-$91,000 total, my worst day I have ever had
+$185,541 remaining in my balance of the accounts ($9,250 or so profit per account)
Embarrassed? Absolutely
Pissed off? Absolutely
Did I learn something? Absolutely
I am no better than my worst day. If I am not seeing the market clearly, which I am usually good about figuring out early, gtfo.
If it's Friday, get out early! Not the day to be trying to grind it back out. As Pax says, Capital Preservation Friday. Which I did not adhere to in the slightest.
Unfortunately this happened to me today, granted it was 100% of my decisions that got me here. I own that.
I share for transparency, but also to remind you all that it can happen to you. And most likely has happened to you at some point. It just takes 1 day with your guard down.
Thankfully I still have all my accounts with a good amount of balance in them, I just gave back a traditional 2 weeks of profit($400/day) on each.
This is a great reminder why it's also important to pay yourself. It's hard to be on your game every single day so get your money to your bank.
I am so happy I have taken out the money I have already.
Now that I have addressed it, I will not be addressing it again because I need to move on in order to perform well next week. The hardest part for me is knowing I let myself down while also feeling like I let you down.
Tough spot, but as I said, I have been bringing you along for the fun and exciting parts, so important to see this too unfortunately.
Glad it was funded accounts and not a personal.
Good luck everyone and have a good weekend. Next week is fresh.
I proved a while back that the markets don't care about bad things until the looney tunes anvil whacks it over head with several down days in succession:
