@sad_electronics I hear you. My parts storage is so disorganised, that I just order everything I need for a new project. Even though I know I probably have half of what I need already… somewhere. I really need to spend more time on organisation… instead of that next project. 🤔

@GregDavill Interesting. Hadn’t seen these before. I’ve always found 27” 2560x1440 works best for me, in terms of optimal productivity. Two monitors often better than one, although I think I would almost always prefer side-by-side, rather than “DualUp”?
@witnessmenow The only times I've had otherwise unexplained printing issues with same brand / type filament, it has been resolved by drying out the filament. I got myself a cheap food dehydrator for this purpose. I also store filament in sealed containers when not in use.
@DanielBogdanoff@_nitz@witnessmenow Yes, indeed. I always found it took a 2 week holiday before my creative mind would re-engage. My problem was that I mostly took a week annual leave so I could fast-track work coding projects, uninterrupted! Seriously… there was no work / life balance there!

@setlahs @lukego@robin7331 I’d just say, don’t cut corners on selecting a good quality boom / arm. Stability is key. So spending extra on good quality and added shipping cost (solidly built is heavy!), is money we’ll spent. 👍🏼
@lukego@robin7331 Valid point that the arm may not work for everyone. I’ve a smaller workspace so no room for permanent binocular stand location. I find the arm very solid and stable. Key point is to think carefully about placement and your specific workspace needs.
@robin7331 No worries. I did a lot of research before settling on this bundle. I had to pay a lot for shipping to NZ. But, it has been brilliant, and definitely one of my best purchase decisions. Articulating arm also allows positioning exactly where needed and then moving out of the way.
@robin7331 No switch needed. It’s a Trinocular, so the camera view is independent from the two eye pieces. Even if you don’t film often, going for Trinocular gives you this option. Importantly, working via direct binocular view gives you depth perception, unlike just using a camera view.

@witnessmenow@bradanlane Actually, I just realised, I’m not fully metric when it comes to PCB layout. I’ll always use a grid based on mils as dictated by the 0.1” lead spacing standard. That’ll always make more sense than dealing in multiples of 2.54mm, 0.127mm etc. 😳
@witnessmenow@bradanlane In New Zealand we went metric in 1976. So my parents still think in stones for their weight. My schooling was mixed. I’m fully metric now (I don’t get pounds & ounces), but I do still think of a stud as a “4 by 2”, even if I order as 100 by 50. 🤔
