@epahogan Agree. My thoughts were USB of drive not jiving with software, but after mouse/keyboard acting odd I wonder if the USB ports are messed up. Agree, curious to know what they will find.

For the first time in 15 years I’m considering going back to windows. @Apple Monterey OS is garbage. Nothing works.

@epahogan 6. All weird. Never had a single issue with a Mac in 15 years. I’ll Probably take to authorized repair place tomorrow. If they have no answer I guess I’m buying some new hardware and drives.

@epahogan 5. Would put Catalina on a thumb drive and install, but USB won’t work, so that’s out. Opened Pshop on accident and I’m told my graphics card isn’t recognized.

@epahogan 4. None of the USB ports are recognizing anything I try. Wanted to download and install Catalina from App Store, but Mac OS won’t let me install that.

@epahogan 3. Then ran disk utility, no issues. So I reinstalled Monterey. After this half the letters on my keyboard don’t work. (Plugged the keyboard into an old air book, all keys work fine. Pages ans Keynote vanished (no longer listed under applications.

@epahogan 2. Only option was hard restart. If drive was not plugged in at restart all was fine. Tried to boot into recovery mode and reinstall Catalina (backup on external drive), did nothing for hours and then mouse was frozen. Tried this multiple times.

@epahogan 1. I was running Catalina. Upgraded to Monterey.
Did not recognize / Mount my external drive (admittedly it’s a bit old) but was fine on Catalina. Kept receiving a notification the drive was not ejected properly. Then the mouse and keyboard would freeze.
