Most people weren't taught how to build wealth.
We were taught how to earn a wage.
I've made mistakes.
I've chased hype.
I've lost money trying to avoid losing money.
Here I share the lessons I've learned investing in AI Infrastructure.
Think you've missed it?
You haven't. π
@orusrock cpi wednesday with the 10y already up there is the opportunity-cost backdrop for gold. firm dollar doesn't automatically mean dump β fear still gets a vote.
@marcus_dravn this is the bit that gets taught as a rule then breaks under stress. yields + dollar raise the opportunity cost, but fear still has a vote β which is roughly how 2026 has played out. levels beat the headline.
@VnInvestBlogger same. chasing into columbus day liquidity before wednesday's cpi is how you buy the fakeout. levels are useful, timing around the print matters more
@kathylienfx for gold the missing cash bond market is the bit that matters. thinner book can exaggerate the move even when stocks look normal. sitting on my hands unless the setup is obvious
@Intermarket_edg standing aside when the trend and momentum disagree is so underrated. most of the damage gets done shorting a rebound just because the higher timeframe says so π
@FurqanMalickFX context, not a setup is the bit most people skip. with US bonds shut today i wouldn't read too much into whatever gold does before CPI at 1:30pm UK wednesday
@D_ChartFX fewer than people think. 3 trades you actually planned beat 15 you took because you were bored. and in a CPI week, sitting on your hands counts as a position π
@maxinmarkets honestly neither until wednesday. CPI weeks love a fake first move, so letting it pick a side and then seeing if it actually holds feels like the grown-up option π
@NVDZM1 depends why you're taking it. partials into a level where price usually stalls is part of the plan. partials because you're scared it'll come back is just fear with a spreadsheet π
@VnInvestBlogger cash is a position is underrated going into wednesday. half the damage on CPI days isn't the direction, it's stops filling miles past where they were set while the spread's blown out
all in, or bit by bit?
vanguard looked at rolling 1-year periods from 1976 to 2022. putting a lump sum in straight away beat drip-feeding it about 2 times out of 3.
drip-feeding did better in the worst markets though.
which one could you actually stick with?
@Patejibril40171 the wick that takes your stop then runs straight to your TP feels personal every single time π at least you read the direction right
@Hermees01@XAUUSDvip@sirrillahfx@Awelmo1 consolidation going into CPI week is usually where both sides get wicked out first. my bias matters less than knowing where i'm wrong, and that spreads do daft things around 1:30pm UK on wednesday
price pokes above the level. do you enter on the wick, or wait for the candle to close?
wick gets you the better price and more fakeouts. close gets you confirmation and a worse fill.
which one have you paid for more?
@i_amtony_ the Go won't be what stresses you, the market will π we're building a gold bot too (still testing). biggest lesson so far: backtests look amazing until you add real spread and slippage around the open
@MagnetTraderX C, and it's not close. you can misread structure half the time and still survive if the risk is right. nail every other skill with no risk management and one bad afternoon undoes the lot
@Aeron_TKP 'let setups come to you' is the hardest rule to follow manually and somehow even harder to code π the london sweep bit catches so many people on gold
