Surely, the best thing that money can buy is time. From all the things we trade every day (e.g. goods, services, labour, favours and money) nothing is as valuable or finite as time.

Of course, this premise is an oversimplification that ignores nuances such as family circumstances, dependents, debt, living a semi-nomad life or having to work a few extra years to guarantee a livable pension allowance.

But in any case, the sentiment prevails.
