This investment in new 🚄 FLIRT trains is solid progress on the Enterprise route. But if we want people to ditch the car for good, we need to stop treating rail upgrades as the finish line.

Here are three practical moves I recommend to clients in cross-border mobility projects:

First, build true door-to-door speed with integrated apps 📱 that bundle rail tickets, e-bikes, taxis and parking in one tap. That turns a fragmented rail trip into a seamless door-to-door journey that competes head-on with the car’s 90-minute experience.

Second, use existing data platforms to run hourly services instead of waiting for new track. Smart scheduling alone can double capacity without another billion in concrete.

Third, add hydrogen-ready retrofits now ⚡ so these trains run zero-emission from day one and qualify for extra EU green grants.
These steps turn good hardware into a genuine economic corridor. 🌍
