In May 1978, preparations were underway at the Curragh Camp for the deployment of the 43rd Inf Bn to UNIFIL Lebanon. Panhard ALM 90’s Armoured cars of the Cavalry and Infantry Panhard M3 Armoured personnel carriers were painted UN white before deployment.

👉 Head of National Security Analysis Centre is a part time role.

👉 Minister for Defence is a part-time role.

👉 Minister for State at Dept of Defence given no role in Defence.

The dynamic area utilised provided a realistic trg environment with scenarios for these soldiers preparing them for future operations & overseas deployments.
