@antichrista@jkottke Very random coincidence! Yeah with my first, the TEE (superior visual of the heart) showed PFO w very little shunt. After 2nd stroke, even the TTE (inferior visual) showed obvious shunt. No clear reason why except possibly my position during the test or how hard I was breathing.
@jkottke@antichrista Reading this thread is like having dejavu. The limp arm, aphasia, tPA! Amazing that you sought the proper treatment. I ended up having two strokes across 3 yrs, first was cryptogenic at the time and second we concluded it was due to PFO. So glad you are ok!
It’s not over. California is now the epicenter of the crisis, and ICU capacity is reported to be 0% in Orange County where he works. But as I watched the sun rise today, it finally felt the dawn of a new day.
It’s the best day of the year - my dad got his first Covid vaccination today. He’s 68, a pulmonologist and ICU physician. Was supposed to retire in April but pushed it to June, then August, then October, then December, and now to April Fools Day 2021.
@RileyBehrens So sorry this happened to you! I’m a 2 time stroke survivor in my 30s. The brain is amazing and incredibly elastic. There is hope! Wishing you a full recovery. Invictus!
