China is dramatically expanding airspace controls around Beijing.

From September 20, a new Special Restricted Area covering more than 280,000 km² will surround the capital — a zone roughly 600 km across that also reaches Tianjin, Hebei and parts of several neighboring regions.

Commercial airline flights are not banned. Scheduled airlines, approved business aviation and military, police, customs and rescue operations are exempt, while other flights will require specific authorization.

Aircraft inside the zone must follow approved flight plans, maintain continuous ATC communication and electronic identification and tracking.

The move follows the June 26 incident in which a light sport aircraft deviated from its approved area and crashed into Beijing’s CITIC Tower.

Unconfirmed report indicated that Sensitive F-35 fighter jet components ended up in Hong Kong during transit from Australia to the U.S., triggering a congressional inquiry over the possibility that sensitive technology could have been exposed.

The shipment reportedly included an F-35 canopy containing stealth technology.

Pentagon and Lockheed Martin are working to recover the parts and determine how they ended up in Hong Kong.

According to today's data, gas prices across the EU have reached historic price heights.

Records were broken in Germany, France, Poland and Denmark.

Diesel prices had their records broken in Germany, France, Italy and Latvia.

Should the trend continue, all of the European Union's countries will reach their highest record gas prices at the pump in recorded history in the coming week.

Several petroleum companies announced that every country in the European Union will reach an all-time high average gas price at the pump by next week.

Saudi Arabia requested Syrian fighters to counter Ansarallah, says report

Syria has rejected a formal Saudi request to organize and deploy Syrian fighters to Yemen, according to Syrian sources cited exclusively by Turkiye Today.

Sources said Riyadh had spent months seeking military personnel to address its needs in Yemen, but Damascus declined, saying it was focused on reorganizing its own military and would not enter the fighting as a third party.

The sources said Syria was not preventing individuals from travelling abroad to participate independently, but Damascus would not assume responsibility for such involvement.

Turkish sources also denied claims that Ankara had organized or transported Syrian fighters to Yemen, while regional sources said reports of Syrians travelling as part of teams operating alongside Turkish personnel were “completely untrue.”

Saudi Arabia is reportedly continuing to seek military personnel and instructors from several countries, with Pakistan among those where recruitment efforts have gained traction.

Turkiye Today reported that unconfirmed claims also point to recruitment efforts in North African countries, while sources said any Turkish or Pakistani involvement under the Mecca pact would focus on 'defensive' missions and the protection of strategic infrastructure rather than ground operations against Ansarallah.

Somalia Weighs Expulsion of UN Official Over Alleged Role in Election Affairs.

Federal government sources say Somalia is weighing a diplomatic step against a senior UN official amid allegations of partiality in the country's election

Somalia's federal government is considering declaring Raisedon Zenenga persona non grata, government sources have told SomaliReview, amid allegations that the United Nations official is siding with opposition politicians who favour indirect elections as the country moves towards direct public voting.

The sources said his removal from the country could be imminent. They described a possible declaration that would make him unwelcome in Somalia. However, the information supplied for this article does not include a formal decision or notification ordering his departure.

Zenenga, identified as the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Somalia, is accused of supporting political actors opposed to the country's move towards one-person, one-vote elections. The central allegation concerns his alignment with those politicians, rather than an explicit public statement rejecting direct voting.

That distinction is central to the complaint. An international official does not have to announce opposition to an election to influence the process. Support for political actors seeking an indirect system could have a similar effect, depending on the nature of that support and how the official uses his position.

The allegation of partiality
The allegation is that Zenenga's conduct has crossed the boundary between engaging with opposition leaders and advancing their political demands. It presents that alleged involvement as a breach of the impartiality expected of a senior UN representative.

The issue raised by the allegation is whether diplomatic access and the authority of the UN office are being used to favour one electoral model. That would go beyond listening to competing views and would place the official inside the political contest.

Somalia's move towards direct voting places the method of choosing political leaders at the centre of the dispute over how elections should be conducted. Under a direct system, eligible citizens cast their ballots. An indirect system places the selection of representatives in the hands of an intermediate body or group.

The mission's closing timetable

German federal prosecutors have taken over the investigation into a drone found near the Bundeswehr’s Wunstorf air base in Lower Saxony.

The damaged drone was discovered by a walker near Lake Steinhude earlier this week.

According to reports, it may be the same model used in the suspected drone attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport in August, where a drone carrying explosives was found near a Ukrainian transport aircraft.

Authorities are investigating possible links, but no explosives have been found on the Wunstorf drone so far.

Italy will deploy warships to ensure the safe passage of its commercial vessels through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.

Bab al-Mandeb connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and is a major shipping route between Europe and Asia. Around 12–15% of global trade has historically passed through the narrow waterway.

Yemen's Ansarallah has captured the entire Red Sea coast, including islands around the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, from Saudi-backed forces.

Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said an Italian Eurofighter F-2000 jet was damaged in an attack on Saudi Arabia’s Ta’if Air Base on Thursday night.

No Italian military personnel were injured, and no other vehicles or infrastructure used by Italian forces were damaged, he said.
