@ThiefofYlisse ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
—— his arrival was
unexpected, to say
the least. and to
bring wine, of all
things..

but her expression
softened afterward.

⠀〝 I’m not too big
a fan of alcoholic
beverages.. but, I
suppose I will oblige
just this one time. 〞
⠀⠀⠀

[𝓜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞. @diiredamsel]

@ThiefofYlisse ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
just as soon as maribelle
heard the thief’s voice,
her posture stiffened
as she went to sit up.

and at his entrance..
sharp, brown irises
focused onto the
items he held.

⠀〝 Hello, Gaius.. 〞

an eyebrow quirked
just slightly; curiosity,
perhaps. ——

[𝓜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞. @diiredamsel]

@ThiefofYlisse ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀〝 F—For me..? 〞 she
stutters out, gaze shifting
over the assortment of items.

⠀⠀⠀〝 Gaius, what have I told
you about gifts—!?

.. But, I thank you, regardless. 〞
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

[𝓜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞. @diiredamsel]

@ThiefofYlisse ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀—— we shall elope. 〞
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

[𝓜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞. @diiredamsel]

⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀〝 Tsk. The Day of
Devotion is so
pointless to me. 〞
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

[𝓜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞. @diiredamsel]

@ThiefofYlisse ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
—— naturally.

⠀⠀⠀〝 .. Please, just speak with
him. Man to man. If you are
being genuine, I am sure
he will understand. 〞 her
tone is soft, as if she’s upset.

⠀⠀⠀〝 If not.. then ——
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

[𝓜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞. @diiredamsel]

@ThiefofYlisse ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀—— be aware? There is ..
hope. 〞

even despite her words, it was
as clear as day that the chances
of the duke approving were slim
to none.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

[𝓜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞. @diiredamsel]

@ThiefofYlisse ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀〝 I am, but.. 〞

despite all of the previous joy, the
situation seemed significantly
more tense. she seems visibly
upset; but that would make sense.

⠀⠀⠀〝 Should he not at least ——
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

[𝓜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞. @diiredamsel]

@ThiefofYlisse ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀—— ask you a question? 〞
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

[𝓜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞. @diiredamsel]

@ThiefofYlisse ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀〝 Thank you, Gaius.. 〞 she
murmurs softly, still in disbelief
at what just happened.

the squeeze awakes her from
whatever trance she was stuck
in, and she offers a sheepish
smile.

⠀⠀⠀〝 May I ——

but it is comforting
nevertheless.

her thumb grazes over his
hand.

⠀⠀⠀〝 That would make me
even happier. You had
best not disappoint. 〞
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

[𝓜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞. @diiredamsel]

@ThiefofYlisse ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
his words only make her
even happier. with her free
hand, the one that wasn’t
carrying the box, she gently
grasps ahold of his hand.

⠀⠀⠀〝 Will you? 〞

she scoffs slightly. all of the
affection is ——

[𝓜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞. @diiredamsel]

@ThiefofYlisse ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
—— break the kiss so that
she might speak. cheeks
still colored pink, chestnut
colored oculars lock onto
his own.

⠀⠀⠀〝 Y—You’ve made me..
unbelievably happy. I
don’t think you
understand. 〞
⠀⠀⠀

[𝓜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞. @diiredamsel]

@ThiefofYlisse ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
—— to be pleasant, and it
even sets her at ease a
little. it takes her but a
second and she returns the
kiss, lips delicately pressing
against his own.

shortly afterwards, maribelle
would be the one to ——

I know you do not love me
only because of my status..

And I.. I love you too. You’ve
grown on me—after all of
this time. Staying by your
side.. would make me ——
