One of the reasons that Sri Lanka’s internal payment systems (from @_LankaPay_ ) are not widely promoted is because the banks and even CBSL is in the pocket of global payment companies.

We send a few hundred million dollars a year out to make payments *within Sri Lanka*. Cash too is expensive and the solution is to use our own systems, not do more visa/mc/etc.!

Then of course we will also get “unfair trade” charges 🤣. Good luck getting India’s @UPI_NPCI to go away!
