John Dumelo left acting in 2017 to build Melo Farms, where he grows maize, rice, ginger, and vegetables across large farms in Ghana.
Today, his farm reportedly generates over GHยข50 million from a single maize harvest in just three months and employs 300โ400 young people every season.
In 2025, he was appointed Ghana's Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, continuing to promote commercial farming as a profitable career for the youth.
