So @Apple, you are Intelligent, I know data security is important, I understand company policies but even banks have multiple authentication and security verification methods widely used. Be smart.

Apple answer: recover the account it will take 7 days. 7 days! 7 days locked out from both phones.

She is part of my family group on iCloud, there are many other ways to authenticate a person (face and documents recognition) and she is now saying “I should have bought a new Samsung”.

There’s an option to not use it and to receive a text (SMS) but since she is out of the country her phone carrier (@ClaroBrasil) doesn’t even receive SMS without paying a global plan (which sucks too).

But then @Apple requested the two factor authentication from her MacBook that she doesn’t have access to.

We were transferring her data from android from iPhone, using @Apple ‘s official app, and it requested her Apple ID. She was happy that she remembered her password (because we set up a password app @EnpassApp for her years ago)

She just bought a new iPhone 17, and she was happy until..
