@D_abdulkader You’re starting to sound a bit like “All Lives Matter” my friend. Not sure where your moral or religious compass lies but Hamas doesn’t represent all Muslims and this narrative you are presenting really screams a generalization of Muslims that the West loves to perpetuate.
@vrgldh@nkornutick You’re joking. Right? Have you ever fled on foot as a result of your homeland being bombed? With children and elderly and nothing but the clothes on your back and fear in your heart?
Turkey is bombing the Kurdish cities of Derik, Amûdê and: Kobanî. Where the Kurds fought ISIS and also saved the West. Where the spirit of ‘women, life, freedom’ caught fire and spread a philosophy to Iran and the world. Turkey is bombing Rojava. When it’s Kurds, who’s watching?
Thrilled to have Erbil as a Sister City, honoring all of the contributions our Kurdish residents have made over the last 50 years. This will forge a greater partnership between our cities, and create more friendships, cultural understanding and business connections for all.
Tomorrow is the big day!!

Now I know how people who have obsessed over the #ErasTour feel. Getting tickets to see #messi play this Saturday has caused panic all over nashville. Highly unluckily but if anyone has access to 3 tickets, dm me.
The Nashville/Erbil sister cities initiative has been in the works for many years and it’s finally official!
Thank you to everyone who has dedicated time and effort into making this happen!!
Stay tuned for exciting updates and how you can be involved!

It has been a great honor to serve as the @KRG_USA Representative for the past eight years. I’m sad to leave behind the many friendships that have developed and the privilege of leading @Kurdistan’s relations with the United States here in Washington, but I’m very much looking forward to the honor of working as Prime Minister @masrourbarzani’s Senior Advisor for Foreign Affairs and Climate Change.
In my public service on behalf of @Kurdistan abroad, I have advocated for wider diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties. My top priority and area closest to my heart has been our brave Peshmerga forces and getting them the assistance they need.
I want to thank President @masoud_barzani, @IKRPresident and Prime Minister @masrour_barzani for the trust and support they have shown me over the years and who remain a pillar of strength and inspiration for me today.
Sincere thanks also to Foreign Relations Minister @SafeenDizayee and your predecessor @FalahMustafa for your leadership and hard work, and to all our colleagues at @KRG_DFR for your professionalism and commitment through the many ups and downs of our work together since 2005 when I first joined @KRG_UK.
Finally, thank you to the many smart, dedicated and inspiring Americans who care so much about the people of Kurdistan and have made our job as Kurdish representatives so much easier and the path ahead smoother.
I have complete confidence in Representative @treefa_aziz and know that our strategic partnership with the United States will continue to thrive under her leadership and with the support of our great team in DC and the wonderfully diverse Kurdistani diaspora in North America.
I’ll be heading to Erbil soon. If you haven’t visited Kurdistan, it’s beautiful and it will welcome you with open arms. Come and see for yourself.
