🚨 Julian Ward on his plans after becoming Liverpool’s new Sporting Director:
🎙️ “The first thing I want to do is make sure #LFC never enter another transfer window without knowing exactly what we need.”
“I’ve already spoken to Andoni. We have to build a squad that suits his football. Players who can run, press, fight for every ball and still have the quality to decide games.”
“I’ll also be looking at contracts. If a player is important to Liverpool, we shouldn’t wait until he has 12 months left before starting negotiations.”
“And yes, there will be signings. But I’m not interested in signing players simply because they are available or because everyone on social media wants them. We need players who fit Liverpool.”
“I know the club, I know the structure and I know what is expected of this position. I’m not coming back to start another project from scratch. I’m coming back to make sure Liverpool’s next project is built properly.”
“And if there’s a midfielder somewhere in Europe who Liverpool have been monitoring for three years…”
Ward pauses.
“…we’ll probably try to sign him.”
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Manchester City found guilty on virtually all charges relating to breaches of Premier League financial regulations. #MCFC expected to appeal against verdict issued by independent commission. Sanctions undecided, process ongoing @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/Muxqp4beK9

What do you think their punishment will be? 🤯
🚨: Liverpool are furious with Manchester City. There is no chance City get away lightly here.
Liverpool will pursue every legal avenue available to them and seek the maximum compensation possible. #LFC
🚨 Hugo Ekitike on the Liverpool teammate he can’t wait to reunite with:
🎙️ “Honestly, I already know who I want to play with when I’m back Bradley Barcola. I was waiting for him to come to Liverpool, so the first thing I told him was, ‘Don’t get too comfortable without me.’ Now I’m the one watching from the outside, and I’m not going to lie, I’m desperate to get back on that pitch with him.”
“Barcola has something defenders hate. He doesn’t need five touches to hurt you. Give him half a metre and he’s gone. I know what he can do because I played with him before, and now Liverpool fans are going to see another side of him when we’re both fully fit.”
“And when I come back, I don’t want people telling me to take it slowly. I’ve waited long enough. I want Barcola on one side, the ball in front of me and defenders running backwards. Let’s see who survives that”
Itulah hakikatnya sepakbola.
Sadio Mané is investing $19.5M (11.7 billion CFA) in the SM10 AGRO project in his hometown of Bambali, with the foundation stone being laid on September 19, 2026.
Scheduled for completion in 18 months, the agricultural initiative aims to:
1. Create 1,000+ direct jobs
2. Give local farmers more opportunities
3. Process mangoes for export
4. Produce mango purée, butter and dried mango
5. Include a training centre and four processing facilities
Speaking in a press conference ahead of the laying of the foundation stone on Saturday, Mane said: “The Sedhiou region loses 30 to 40 per cent of the mangoes it grows, because of failures to store and process them properly.
“I want the wealth of our soil to remain here with us in Senegal. This initiative will employ 1,000 people from the outset.
“Processing plants will be set up at Bambali, and one will specialise in making mango butter. There will also be a 500-hectare mango plantation, and an agricultural college will be established.
“I want the young people and women of my region to have real opportunities for education. Transport and delivery services for SM10 Agro will indirectly create extra jobs as well.”
Six years ago today, Diogo Jota became a Red.
Today, as every day, all of us at Liverpool FC are thinking of him, his brother Andre and his family and friends.
