Startups are hard. Exchanges are hard. Over the past few years, I've watched many talented teams shut down and friends walk away from years of work. It's difficult to see, especially knowing how much everyone in this space puts into it.
Paradoxically, the opportunity has never been greater, yet the competition has never been fiercer. We're more excited than ever about the next chapter of N1 and N1 Prime, and everything we're working toward.
But in the meantime, we wanted to make a small gesture for those affected by recent closures. If you're looking for a new place to trade, my DMs are open.

People are dancing on mathematicians’ graves way too much. They’re among the few people who will actually be able to understand and verify AI-generated proofs.
If humanity decides to go on autopilot and blindly trust AI, we’re all far more fucked than Terence Tao

There are few pivotal moments in the history of the product of “the market” that really changed things up (introduction of leverage and margin, novel matching mechanisms, funding, etc).
And i strongly believe that prime will be the next step wise structural change to the way markets work.
just a note: N1 Prime is not an aggregator it's an exchange with built in Prime brokerage. unlike aggregators that route your trades elsewhere, N1 keeps execution on its own markets while makers reuse collateral and hedge across venues to supply liquidity here.
buybacks seem to only make sense if a substantial % of your token holders are users, because they can help onboard more users. If that’s not the case, it’s essentially a waste of money.
and imo, that explains why different “buyback tokens” perform so differently from each other.
Over time, I’ve realized that focusing too much on competition can be detrimental. If you base your strategy on what someone else is doing, you often inherit the flaws in their approach too, even when you’re trying to improve on it.
It’s like trying to outrace someone to a destination without realizing it was the wrong destination to begin with.
Ostium's margins breakdown says a lot about the economics behind perp dexes.
You can generate billions in volume and still keep very little in the end. That also explains the constant fundraising, even among exchanges with high eight figures in "profit"
Only a few exchanges in the world can sustain both deep liquidity and good margins.
I don't think we get another leading exchange w/o changing the economics of liquidity
