IMF SLA for the 1st Review is around the corner....
• SL Officials and @IMFNews are close to reaching a Staff-Level Agreement (SLA) following talks in Morocco this week -Bloomberg.
• Only few outstanding issues remain.
• SLA is the 1st step needed in order for a second tranche of $334 mn loans to be disbursed.
• SL needs that deal, plus separate agreements with creditors on restructuring terms that align with program’s debt sustainability criteria, before the IMF board signs off on the next round of funding.
• Debt restructuring talks with creditors from the Paris Club and other lenders are also taking place in Morocco this week at the IMF-World Bank annual meetings.
• Official creditors committee had aimed to sign a MOU this week, although an announcement is looking increasingly unlikely.
• Failure to conclude talks on the debt restructuring this week won’t halt the IMF funding program, although it may delay its progress.

There are 03 grave mistakes often committed by our body politic following each major terrorist attack:
1. Politicking upon the devastation
2. Fabricating conspiracy theories
3. Hollow socio-political analyses
Be responsible, and refrain,as the results could only foster terrorism!
