They kept filming.

A slab of glacier tore free at 5,200 metres and fell more than a kilometre. The mountain didn’t shake or roar. It simply let go. What came down the valley was not water. It was ice, rock and mud moving like liquid concrete, nine metres high in thirty minutes.

The people in the footage stood on the slope as if they were watching weather. They recorded the collapse the way you record a sunset , until the river took the road, the bridges, and the villages.

Hundreds confirmed dead. More than 1,500 still missing.

The last thing some of them ever saw was the mountain coming toward them, and they never stopped filming.

Άκουγα τις προάλλες σε ένα space για μια υπόθεση καταγγελίας βιασμού, και τα άτομα φιλικά προσκείμενοι προς τον βιαστή, έλεγαν αυτό που λένε πάντα οι δικοί του, "είναι καλό παιδί, αυτός είναι τον θύμα" "αυτή είναι παλαβη του χει αποθυμενα" ότι ακούμε πάντα δηλαδή. Ζητούσαν και...

... και θάρρος να γίνει για αυτή την βοθροκοινωνια ζούμε, σε αυτήν που δεν θα σε δικαιώσει την γυναίκα όταν θα κάνει την καταγγελία, θα της την πέσει με σκεπτικισμό, και ίσως και να αυνανιστει με την εικόνα, σε αυτή πρέπει η γυναίκα ή θηλυκότητα να βρει τρόπους αυτοάμυνας..
